Fair Grove History
Fair Grove is located about 14 miles north of Springfield on Highway 65. The 2010 census counted 1,393 citizens. A four-lane Highway 65 south to Springfield connects with 4 lanes south to Branson.
Consistent growth is the plan for the inhabitants who are proud of the 1883 Wommack Mill, school, park, and a small-town style of living with a sense of community.
Wommack Mill
Built in 1883, Wommack Mill is a 2 1/2-story timber frame structure listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is 1 of only 3 operating steam-powered mills remaining in the United States. The site serves as the center for the annual Fair Grove Heritage Reunion festival held in September.
