The Fair Grove Police Department is accepting sealed bids for surplus property currently housed at the Fair Grove Police Department.  Property being sold has been accumulated as abandoned property, found property, released evidence and unneeded/outdated vehicle and office supplies and equipment.  Examples of items included, but are not limited to, are police vehicle consoles, emergency lighting and sirens, siren and light switch boxes, vehicle computer stands, firearms, bladed weapons, office desks, office chairs, computer and computing equipment.  

Any and all bids for items must be submitted on sealed City of Fair Grove bid submission forms and submitted to City Hall or the Fair Grove Police Department at 81 South Orchard Boulevard (bid forms may be picked up at City Hall).  Final bids are due and will be unsealed on Friday, July 6, 2018 at 9:00AM with winner's notifications by 4:00PM. 

Highest bidder will be called and a money order, cashier check or cash payment must be received at City Hall before 4:00PM on Monday, July 9th.  If payment is not received by Monday, July 9th, the original winner's bid will be nullified and the next highest bidder will be notified.  

Items may be viewed at the Fair Grove Police Department located at 81 South Orchard Boulevard on Monday-Friday between 8:00AM and 4:00PM and on weekends between 8:00AM and 4:30PM.  If you are wishing to view inventory on the weekend, please call 417-759-6482 ext 2. to make an appointment to ensure an officer will be on site. 


Weapons and ammunition bidding:  Highest bidders for any weapon bid upon will be required to undergo a criminal background check to ensure compliance and legality of purchasing/ownership/possession under Missouri Revised Statute chapter 571, City of Fair Grove ordinance chapter 210, as well as city ordinances and federal rules and regulations.  All bidders for long-guns (i.e. shotguns, rifles) must be at least 18-years of age, a Missouri citizen and provide a current, valid proof of identity and pass a criminal background check; all bidders for handguns must be at least 21-years of age, a Missouri citizen and provide a current, valid proof of identity and pass a criminal background check.

All emergency vehicle lighting and siren requirements:  All emergency vehicle lighting and siren equipment are subject to restriction and regulation under Revised Missouri Statute chapter 304 and 307.175 regarding the definition and regulation of purchasing and displaying emergency lighting and siren equipment.  Highest bidders for emergency lighting and siren equipment are required to sign an affidavit stating lighting/siren equipment will be used solely for emergency vehicle operations (RSMo 304.022).

Condition of Items: All items are being sold "As-Is"; the City of Fair Grove and the Fair Grove Police Department make no guarantees as to the functionality, operability, accuracy or safety of any items being sold as a result of this property sale.  It is the sole responsibility of the bidder/buyer to inspect any and all items being bid upon and the responsibility of said bidder/buyer to properly understand the use and functions of items being bid upon, including any and all potential safety features (or lack thereof) and potential dangers and inherent risks that come with ownership of said surplus property.  

The City of Fair Grove reserves the right to reject any or all bids or waive any bidding irregularities.
